It is a wonderful memory, and a long-anticipated vacation to experience one of the world’s most beautiful places. When you visit Maui, there are many thrilling opportunities to explore, and Lava Java is here to caffeinate and fuel your island adventures.    

Maui-grown coffee is unlike any other coffee in the world. The unparalleled flavor, natural oil content, and smooth, non-acidic finish makes Lava Java’s coffee second to none. Scott and Julie Patterson, the owners of Lava Java Coffee Roasters of Maui, were aware of the unique properties of Maui coffee when they opened their business in 2008. Since then, they have prided themselves on providing locals and visitors alike with the best coffee experience on Maui. 

Our Products 

The Pattersons work with several upcountry farmers to produce Lava Java’s “famous” Kula Coffee – a product that gained notoriety over a decade ago when 250 Kona coffee starter plants found a new home on the slopes of Haleakala. The seeds that came from these now-priceless trees are the direct source of Lava Java’s most popular coffees.   

For more varieties of Maui coffee, Scott and Julie look to a well-known Maui grower whose plantation is located on the slopes of the West Maui mountains. Of the five different Maui-grown coffees Lava Java carries, four come from this incredible plantation. 

In addition to coffee, Lava Java sells and ships flavored sugars, gourmet chocolates, logo mugs, and many other Hawaiian-inspired products. We are an authorized dealer of the ever-popular Original Red Dirt products, making our shop the perfect place to purchase souvenirs and gifts for you and your loved ones back home.
