I am a classic coffee drinker where a house drip defines the quality of the beans roasted. Lava Java makes one fine cup of jo! I refuse to buy burnt coffee from mass production Seattle based company and love the local flavor. Lava Java is my morning go to place for fantastic coffee. Highly recommend!

California native sales girl was soo sweet and shared the history of the shop. We bought 2 cups of coffee, 2 coffee cups to take home and a shot glass! Buy locally and spend a moment chatting with the locals!

I was researching cafes on Maui and thought Lava Java in Kihei looked good. It surpassed all expectations and I went back twice during my vacation. The coffee itself was the best I had on Maui and the employees were super nice. Spring for the "local" brew you won't regret it. Nothing better than a little afternoon jolt after a morning at the beach. Parking: Ample off-street parking.

I had a large Frozen Mocha and it was incredible. Not too sweet, but amazing flavor. Cool little spot off the beaten path. Highly recommended.

Coconut Mac Nut Latte was perfect. If you don’t like your drinks too sweet…. This is it! Iced Chai latte possibly best on island!

Coffee granita is a must a well as the POG slushy. Every one of the 10 times we have come to Maui from Sydney we always make daily morning vists to Lava Java. It is an institution in it's own right on the island.
