I was researching cafes on Maui and thought Lava Java in Kihei looked good. It surpassed all expectations and I went back twice during my vacation. The coffee itself was the best I had on Maui and the employees were super nice. Spring for the "local" brew you won't regret it. Nothing better than a little afternoon jolt after a morning at the beach. Parking: Ample off-street parking.

Coffee granita is a must a well as the POG slushy. Every one of the 10 times we have come to Maui from Sydney we always make daily morning vists to Lava Java. It is an institution in it's own right on the island.

Young man was behind the coffee bar was very helpful, and made me the best drink ever! I mean, every flavor in that drink was balanced and awesome. I def recommend this coffee shop, also why not buy local? Right!
